The Application Process
In order to streamline the application and approval process, grant requests
to the Honda Canada Foundation will be administered through this Web site,
allowing a review of each application based on its own merits and in a fair
and consistent manner.
Once the application to the Honda Canada Foundation has been completed and
submitted, it is subject to a comprehensive review process. Your organization
will be notified of its application status in Phase 1 by email and
Phase 2 and 3 via telephone.
There are three steps in the application process:

Form
The application form takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete.

Detailed Application Form
+ Income Statement
This can take from two to five hours to complete; it's dependent on
how much information you include, the status of available documents
within your organization and the number of documents that can be utilized
from historical grant application submissions.
Please note that in addition to the detailed application form, required
documents include:
- Audited financial statements for the last two years
- Copy of your most recent form filed with the CRA
- Three to five year plan for the organization
- A one year, full budget for the project, program or organization

| Phase 3: |

On-site Visit
Within two weeks of submitting the detailed application form and income
statement, candidates that have successfully completed Phase 1 and
2, will complete Phase 3, the final phase in the application process.
A Honda Canada Foundation staff representative will visit the charity
location to interview staff. The total time of the visit varies, and
it is recommended to set aside three hours. If the charity is applying
for a specific program, arrangements are to be made for the representative
to visit the program and observe it in operation.
Please note that Phase 3 also includes brief phone interviews with
select Board Members and funding partners of the charity. These phone
interviews will take place with the staff representative within the
week following the site visit.
The Honda Canada Foundation will grant twice annually. The granting dates for 2011, 2012 and 2013 are indicated below:
